New Delhi: The University Placement Cell at Jamia Millia Islamia in collaboration with Jamia Engineering Alumni Association organized a “Students-Alumni Meet” on Saturday 31st July 2010 in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology of Jamia Millia Islamia.
This meet was part of the series of events of Silver Jubilee Celebrations being organized by the Faculty of Engineering & Technology this year.
Alumni interacted with the students wherein they shared their experiences and gave their suggestions to the students to build a bright future. They also pointed out the importance of strengthening alumni networks and mentoring juniors.
They also highlighted the contribution of the Teachers of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology of Jamia which has gone a long way in strengthening technical education in the country along with shaping lives of thousands of Engineers.
The function was attended by more than 250 Alumni working in important positions and prominent roles in leading organizations of the country. They include Mr. Hannif Qureshi (IPS Officer); Mr. Sunil Chopra, COO, Calance Corporation; Mr. Anshu Gupta, Head, L&T; Mr. Mohit Khattar, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Godrej Natures Basket Ltd.; Mr. Vikas Anand, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of MCD; Mr. Upendera Giri, CEO, Astrowix Corporation; Mr. Riazuddin Ansari, Dell Computers; Mr. Faizy Mohsini, Director-Sales, GE; Syed Asim Ali, President, Religare Technologies and Mrs. Vibha Gupta, Senior Manager, Siemens.
On the occasion, a web portal of the University Placement Cell was also launched by Prof Moin, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The web portal provides a link between recruiter, student, and the placement coordinator. The Training and Placement Officer of the University, Mr. Suri, presented a report on placement.
Best Alumnus awards were also given on the occasion. This year the award went to Mr. Mohit Khattar, Dr. Mainuddin, Mr. Anshu Gupta, Ms Sabiha Kidwai, Mr. Saeed Ahmad and Mr. Vikas Anand.
