Haryana has received Rs.1,031.57 lakh and Himachal Pradesh Rs.90 lakh under the guidelines to develop camp sites, Minister of State for Tourism Sultan Ahmed told the Lok Sabha in a written answer.

He said that no project for development of camp sites has been sanctioned in Uttar Pradesh.

The guidelines were circulated among tourism ministry officials and industry stake-holders July 15.

The development of camp sites across the country is covered under the existing Scheme of Product Infrastructure Development for Destinations and Circuits.

Under this scheme, the government will extend financial assistance for tourism projects including camp sites based on the proposals received from them subject to availability of funds and priority.
