Holy family, Bansal Hospital, Ansari Health Center and Sujan Mahender Hospital are among the hospitals notices have been sent. It has been done after these hospitals didn’t inform the government about the outbreak of dengue in the area. The department has asked them to inform the government about the number of suspected dengue patients they treated during last 15 days.

As per the procedure, all the hospitals in Delhi are supposed to inform the government ‘round the clock’, about the cases and number of patients, in case of outbreak of any disease in the national capital.

Given a sudden increase in the cases of viral fever and that of suspected dengue in Jamia Nagar, doctors are largely confused, because the symptoms of both are same.

It is important to mention here that because of around a dozen suspected dengue deaths in Jamia Nagar, its residents are very much sacred and in panic mode. Every case of viral fever is being misunderstood as dengue.

Delhi government has constituted a Task Force with representatives of MCD and Health Directorate as its members. The TF will visit different hospitals from Tuesday, 17th of August and will present its report within a week to the government.

On the other hand the Health Minister of Delhi, Prof. Kiran Walia has said that these hospitals have been instructed to do decrease the panic and fear among the residents of jamia Nagar over dengue. The Minister also requested the residents not to panic, as it will only worsen the situation. He said that dengue is very much treatable but it is advisable for suspected patients to go through the test in order to confirm it.
