13 candidates of ZFI clear Prelim exam of Civil Services

New Delhi: Thirteen candidates preparing for Indian Civil Services under the patronship of Zakat Foundation of India have cleared Preliminary exam conducted by the UPSC and whose results were declared two days ago. The information was provided to the media by ZFI president Dr Syed Zafar Mahmood.

ZFI had conducted ability test in most of states in the country to select candidates for civil services coaching. The Delhi-based group had selected 34 candidates.

At least four lakh candidates appear in the Preliminary for Civil Services across the country, but only 10 thousand of them are selected for Mains exam. Dr Mahmood said the percentage of successful candidates for Mains from Prelim is only 2.5% while 35.3% of ZFI candidates who sat in Prelim has been selected for Mains.

Giving details, Dr Mahmood said the successful candidates of ZFI include 4 from Kerala, 3 from Jammu and Kashmir and one each from UP, Gujarat, Manipur, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Tamil Nadu. Out of 13 successful candidates, two are Christians and 11 Muslims.

He further said preparation for Mains for the successful has begun. He also offered other Prelim successful Muslim candidates who did not get coaching at ZFI, to avail its services for the Mains. He said ZFI provides coaching for its students at best coaching institutes in Delhi. ZFI also provides them food and lodging facilities. He informed that ZFI has arranged its own private hostel in Mukharji Nagar area in Delhi.
