Speaking after laying the foundation stone of a power sub-station in Rohini in north-west Delhi, Dikshit said the city was developing at a very fast pace and its look had changed in the last decade.

She said the power situation in Delhi had improved significantly and the power companies were making continuous efforts to improve their performance.

In the run-up to preparations for the Commonwealth Games, the chief minister had said her dream of making Delhi a world-class city was “finally coming true”.

“When I became the chief minister in 1998, I had one dream — to make Delhi a world-class city. Today that dream is coming true,” she said.

Her critics, however, said that development in the city was limited only to a few areas.
