Dhaka: The toll in a devastating fire at a garment factory in Dhaka rose to 25 Wednesday, reports Xinhua.
“The number of workers confirmed dead rose to 25 Wednesday,” said Mohibul Haque, deputy commissioner of Dhaka.
The fire broke out Tuesday on the 9th floor of the 10-storey factory building, trapping dozens of workers who were manufacturing clothes for US and European brands.
About 45 workers were injured in the blaze that lasted for over three hours, Haque told Xinhua. Two injured are in critical condition, he added.
