Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda Monday launched e-payment facility for various state government taxes aimed at simplifying the procedure for the state’s commercial units.
“This is just a beginning and soon all departments will go online. This would ensure transparency in all dealings,” Munda said here.
“People will no longer have to make umpteen number of trips to the concerned departments. The simplified process will also increase the revenue collection,” he added.
Payments for all state taxes (excise, sales etc.) of Rs.5 lakh and above can be made through the service.
Jharkhand is the 22nd state to start e-payment service. Earlier, Dec 17, it also launched the e-procurement facility for various state government tenders.
