Ranchi : Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Raghubar Das Sunday said the state would strictly enforce ban on cow slaughter and announced a hike in the minimum wages of labourers.
“The state government will strictly implement the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act to increase the milk production in the state,” Das told a gathering of agriculturists, farmers and labourers in a pre-budget meeting.
Das had called the meeting to take suggestions regarding their expectations from the budget.
Das announced that the minimum wage of the labourers would be hiked from Rs.102 to Rs.150 per day.
“Process has been initiated to hike the minimum wage of the labourers. They are one of the worst hit by the price hike,” he said.
