Imam Bukhari lends support to distressed victims of terrorism in Azamgarh

By Salman Sultan, TwoCircles.net,

Azamgarh: Extremely slow judicial process took more than a year to frame charges against hapless victims of terror propaganda in seemingly fake Batla House Encounter. Now it is getting clear that while two Muslim youths were murdered, a few arrested, still a number of youths are on the radar of Police – waiting for a convenient moment to arrest them.

Latest snatching of Shahzad from his house in Khalispur, later announced as an arrest of alleged absconder, has created a furor in this district which has got back to normal after the initial malevolent propaganda against its name in September 2008. It is strange that Shahzad has admitted in Police custody that actually he had fired on Inspector Sharma. So the earlier theory of a confrontation of the Inspector with slain Atif and getting injured in the process has taken a U-turn. Though considerably long time has been taken by Police to frame charges but still it keeps on changing tracks and inexplicably tests the intelligence of common man.

Imam Bukhari at Shahzad’s house

Imam of Jama Masjid, Delhi, came yesterday by Kaifiyat Express. As the train arrived quite late at Azamgarh, Imam Bukhari straight away went to Khalispur to meet the grandfather and other members of Shahzad’s family. He addressed a Press Conference in front of Shahzad’s house. Imam Bukhari Saheb expressed his anguish and deep concern at the slow rate of judicial process. He wondered whether parents of all these hapless victims of Batla House episode will remain alive to witness the acquittal of these innocent Muslim boys by our honourable courts.

Bukhari Saheb when asked about his line of action told that he has sought an appointment with the Prime Minister and would put all the facts about these innocent Muslim youths, languishing in different jails, before him. He also exhorted Mr. Rahul Gandhi to try to understand the pain and agony of the kith and kin of the alleged accused. He invited Mr. Gandhi to meet the grandfather, mother, sisters and other family members of Shahzad and to go and meet the parents of murdered Atif and Sajid in Sanjarpur and refrain from dramatic stays at the houses of Dalits.

Imam Bukhari also demanded judicial probe to find out the truth of Inspector Sharma’s death which according to him is due to shots fired by his own colleague in Police force.
