Terming the terms of reference unfavourable to the demand for formation of separate Telangana state, four members of legislative assembly and two members of council announced their resignations with more likely to follow suit.

Some Congress legislators are even contemplating to boycott the budget session of the state legislature beginning Monday.

After a marathon meeting, senior Congress legislator R. Damodar Reddy and three others told reporters that they would submit their resignations to assembly speaker Monday.

Damodar Reddy later left to attend the meeting of all-party Joint Action Committee (JAC), which will take a decision on mass resignations.

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has already announced that its all 11 legislators would submit their resignations Sunday.

Legislators of main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are also reportedly willing to quit enmass.

The JAC has rejected the terms of reference of the five-member panel as it has been asked to look into demands for both separate Telangana state and maintaining the present status of united Andhra Pradesh.
