New Delhi: The Delhi Lokayukta Thursday quashed the preliminary objections by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on the maintainability of the complaint filed by BJP leader Vijender Gupta charging her with misuse of public money.
The chief minister had raised objections on the grounds that the complaint of misusing government and public funds for an advertisement campaign during the 2008 assembly elections by Gupta, a former chairman of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi’s (MCD) standing committee, has not been filed and verified in accordance with the prescribed form and rules.
Dismissing the objections, Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sarin said: “Dikshit has raised objections on two issues but in the view of the case and discussions before the court, the application has no merit and thus it is dismissed.”
