Air Force chief on Bangladesh trip to strengthen ties

New Delhi: the Indian Air Force chief, Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik is visiting Bangladesh to promote defence ties and improve bilateral relations between the two countries, an official said here Tuesday.

“He met Bangladesh President Zillur Rahman Monday. He will also be meeting the Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed Jan 20,” a defence ministry official said.

“The main focus of the visit is on improving bilateral relations, to promote defence ties, outline further areas of defence co-operation between the two countries and to resolve pending issues through dialogue and understanding,” the official added.

Air Chief Marshal Naik has already met the three service chiefs of the armed forces of Bangladesh.
