Jaipur : Rashid Khan ran away from the rest of the field, opening up a 11-shot lead at the halfway stage of the LG Rajasthan Open Amateur Championship being played at the par-70 Rambagh Golf Club here Tuesday.
Rashid returned a card of four-under 66, and with his overnight 65, finds himself at nine-under 131 for the tournament.
Imamul Haque and Varoon Parmar share second place at two-over 133. Parmar could only manage a 75 today after a first-round 67 while Haque followed up his first round of even-par 70 with a 72. There were as many as five players tied for fourth place including HS Kang who carded a round of one-under 69.
Starting with a two-shot lead going into the second round, Rashid shot 66 as others faltered.
The 11-shot lead also gives the Delhi Golf Club player a good chance of securing his 11th title on the LG Amateur Tour. A total of forty players made the cut which was declared at 13-over 143.
