Abdul Samad had no role in German Bakery blast: Advocate

Mumbai: Abdul Samad was not involved in Pune’s German Bakery Blast case and neither was he arrested for this blast case. He was actually arrested under Arms Act. This was claimed by Advocate Mubin Solkar, the lawyer of Mr. Samad at a jam packed press conference at Press Club, Mumbai on Tuesday.

Abdul Samad of Bhatkal was facing the media upon his release on bail. On his behalf his advocate claimed that on February 13th when blast at Pune’s German Bakery took place Samad was traveling and was not present in the city. Mubin added that his client is innocent and was framed under Arms Act by the Anti Terrorist Squad, ATS of Maharashtra.

In German Bakery, Pune, blast occurred on February 13th in which 17 people died and 55 were injured.

Mubin Solkar denied that Samad had any relations with Yasin Bhatkal, an alleged member of Indian Mujahedeen, and mastermind of Pune Blast Case.

Answering a question Advocate Solkar said that we have not decided to take any action against Ministry of Home Affairs and its website. P.Chidambaram, Home Minister has congratulated the Maharashtra ATS on the arrest of Samad Bhatkal and it was posted on MHA website.

Abdul Samad was born and brought up in Bhatkal, and did his HSC with Anjuman Islam School, Bhatkal, then went to Bangalore for further study. He did a certification course from Microsoft i.e. MSCE. He then went to Dubai on Tourist Visa in search of employment. He returned to India on expiry of his visa. Upon his arrival he was arrested at the Magalore airport.

Samad was granted bail on June 15th on a bond of Rs.25000 and surety of 2 persons. But he was finally released on July 2nd. Adv. Mubin explained, “We were supposed to get the surety of two persons from Mumbai and that caused the delay in his release.” His passport is with the ATS of Maharashtra and court has ordered him not to travel abroad without the prior permission of the security agencies and the court.

For the further course of Action Adv. Mubin Solkar, informed that, “the chargesheet is not filed yet so we will decide the future course of action after the filing of chargesheet.”

The jam packed press conference was monitored by the Anti Terrorist Squad, ATS Maharashtra. An officer of ATS was also present in the press conference and video recorded the conference.

Abdul Samad Bhatkal did not speak to the media and the whole press conference was dealt by his Lawyer Adv. Mubin solkar. At the end of the conference Abdul Samad thanked God, his family and the journalist present there. These were his only words of the day.
