New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuesday said the Congress was insulting the country’s poor by making “arrogant claims” about the losses suffered during Monday’s all-India strike.
BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad claimed that there was massive people’s support for the strike and the assessment by the Congress party of the losses during the shutdown was naive.
“Who is going to account for the pain and sufferings of the people? The Congress is making arrogant claims about the bandh,” Prasad told reporters here.
The Congress dismissed the nationwide shutdown called by the opposition parties including the Left and the BJP to protest the fuel price hike and price rise as a “complete flop”.
