The Chief Minister has made the statement by repeating the allegations made only by certain communal forces worried about the social and educational growth as well as the interferences in the society that the Muslim community was making. His move is an insult to the Chief Ministry itself. VS should dare to apologize and withdraw the statement, realizing the contradiction in claiming to be a strong advocate of anti-communalism and making a statement revealing his communal blindness. The statement which shames even communal fascists is showing the Hippocratic face of the party.

H Shaheer Moulvi (JIH Kerala), Adv KP Muhammed (Jamat Federation), Dr A Neelalohithadasan Nadar (BSP), Adv Kanjiramattom Siraj (PDP), Kamaleswaram Ansari (INL), Pangode Qamarudheen Moulvi (Lajnathul Muallimeen), Kadakkal Junaid (KMYF), KA Shafeeq (Solidarity), S Sajimon (DHRM), Adv S Shanavas (Minority Rights Watch), Nisam Moosa (ISA), Kundakkayam Husain Moulvi (Mahall Imam Aikyavedi) and SA Nisar (Muslim Samyuktha Vedi) spoke in the meeting.

The CPI (M) should explain whether the statement of the Kerala CM that efforts were on to make Kerala a Muslim-majority state in 20 years is the policy of the party, demanded Siraj Ibrahim Sait, national general secretary of the Indian National League. CPI (M) general secretary Praksh Karat should make it clear if it is not in the policy of the party. The statement of VS Achuthanandan is one that should never happen from a CM of the CPI (M), he added.

The CPI (M) and left parties should make their opinion clear about the controversial statement of the Chief Minister, demanded the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen. The statement made by the CM in the name of opposing terrorism is unfavourable and not in tune with his position. The CM has raised the allegations made by the fascist powers including the Sangh Parivar against the Muslim minority. Those in power should keep away from issuing statements relating the PFI, which has no connections with Islamic teachings, with religious preaching. KNM state president TP Abdullakkoya Madani and general secretary AP Abdul Qader Moulvi spoke in the press conference held in Kozhikode.

Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan had last day told media persons in New Delhi that the PFI was making deliberate efforts to make Kerala a Muslim majority state in 20 years. And for that, they were influencing young men to convert offering money and advocating marriage to increase Muslim population. The statement created widespread condemnation and criticism from all the major political parties and religious leaders of the state. However, the Chief Minister has not yet got ready to withdraw his statement. Meanwhile, CPI (M) state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan yesterday spoke justifying the CM’s statement that the CM said so from the information that he has got.
