Even after multiple commissions presented reports on Muslim backwardness, ruling class was not ready to take any step, Jinna mentioned in his speech. Even after 60 years of independence, none of the government that came to power took any step towards solving the backwardness of Muslims, he added.

Muslim representation is very minimal in high ranks like IAS, IPS and Defense services. Muslims do not find place in Nations largest employed government organization – Indian Railway.

In the field of education and government service recommendation of 15% reservation for backward class and 10% reservation for Muslims in particular by Ranganatha Misra commission need to be implemented, he stressed. Ruling class was deceiving the backward class and minorities for years. Agitation will continue till the Reservation recommended by Misra commission is implemented, Jinna added.

Popular Front Kerala state president Nasarudeen Elamaram while presiding over the meeting said mainstream parties in India are against implementing reservation in order to safeguard upper class interests. “We will not allow anybody to snatch our due share guaranteed by Indian constitution. Woman reservation needs to be made possible only after ensuring social justice in our country. None of the political parties came out supporting the agitation of backward classes so far,” he said.

State Treasurer K.H Naser in his key note address, alleged that the woman reservation is implemented to ensure upper-class supremacy in the government.

State general secretary P. Abdul Hameed, State secretary Basheer Thirunavaya, State Vice president Karamana Asharaf Moulavi, Abdu Rahman Baqvi, P. Abdul Majeed Faizy participated in the meeting.

After the march, Popular Front of India state leaders submitted the memorandum to the Governor of Kerala.
