TRKL head T.K. Manzoor told IANS that the centre would come up at a cost of Rs.1,500 million on a 20-acre plot overlooking the Veli Lake.

“The project is being implemented by TRKL. Twenty-one major players, including experienced groups such as Tata Infrastructure Limited, Oberoi Constructions, Chalet Hotels (Raheja Group), have shown interest,” said Manzoor.

The centre will have facilities like night cricket, go carting, bowling alleys, cultural performance centres, children play areas, roller coasters, carousels, theme halls using modern animatronics technology, light and sound show, multiplexes, multi-level parking and shopping malls.

It will also house food courts, beverage joints, cottages, spas, theme zones highlighting the culture of the state’s three regions – Travancore, Kochi and Malabar.

Manzoor said the project would start by July after completion of the pre-qualification process and bidding.

“This is our first project and we are getting ready with similar projects in other parts of the state,” he said.
