“Hon’ble CM is aware of my stand in this regard that I support for complete sealing of Border instead of this temporary and breachable fencing. I have raised the issue in Parliament in my inaugural speech itself and repeated the demand of permanent sealing on three occasions subsequently besides writing letters to Hon’ble PM and HM,” Ajmal said in the memorandum. He urged the state government to put the demand of complete sealing of the border before the Central Government.

“I request Hon’ble CM to propose the Central Government for complete sealing of Indo-Bangladesh Border,” he wrote.

He also demanded relief and rehabilitation of cyclone affected people in Dhubri and other parts of Assam, and offered his services to set up a network for the work.

“Maximum damage has been reported from my constituency and hence I take on the responsibility of networking for ensuring maximum support from central Government. I am also pursuing for sending a central team and Parliamentary delegation in the affected area.”

On the damage being caused by Brahamputra River, he stressed the need of urgent and emergency protection at Mancachar Kali Alga International Border.

“I wish to inform Hon’bel CM that just now I have returned from the site. I have been informed that the International Border Fencing was about 200 Meter away from Brahmaputra since the erosion started in last year. Now the distance remains is hardly 10 Meter. There were 11 reminders sent to the State Government for emergency protection measures without any response so far.

I wish to point out to Hon’ble CM that further erosion of 10 meter will wash away the bund and fencing and inundate half of Mancachar LAC and most importantly will pose a permanent threat to our national security.”

He requested the CM to take immediate steps to save the Mancachar LAC and for protection of national security.

Ajmal also demanded a campus of Aligarh Muslim University in Dhubri.

He also demanded the CM “to submit a comprehensive proposal to the Central Government and also allow me to organize a floating conference on boat wherein we will invite foreign experts to directly witness the erosion affected areas and interact with our own engineers and draw-up a plan of action.”

He reiterated his demand for Dhubri Fulbari Bridge and revival of International River Port, Rupshi Airport and International railway network in Dhubri.
