The NDFB chief Friday completed 14 days in police custody after he was handed over to Indian authorities by Bangladesh May 1.

“Daimary is doing fine and looked fresh,” Subudh Daimary, elder brother of the NDFB chief, told journalists.

The NDFB leader was brought before a camp court set up at the Guwahati Central Jail due to security reasons instead of the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to seek custody of Daimary after the two-day police remand expires Sunday.

“So far, the CBI has not sought his custody,” Sabda Rabha, counsel for the NDFB leader, said.

The NDFB leader is named as the main accused in a CBI chargesheet that probed the Oct 30, 2008, serial explosions in Assam that killed about 100 people and injured 400 more.
