“China is capturing an inch of our territory daily. But the central government has not taken it seriously. It is unfortunate,” Mulayam Singh alleged in his speech on the opening day of his party’s three-day national council meeting here.

Speaking to reporters later, he also urged the UPA government to hold dialogue with the Maoists for finding a solution to the problem.

“The government should first try to understand the problem properly. Then they should try to solve it with all sincerity. The government should hold a dialogue with the Naxalites (Maoists),” he said.

Mulayam Singh reminded the Maoists that they cannot alleviate the people’s problems by taking up arms.
