Srinagar: All Jammu Kashmir students Front (AJKSF) has strongly denounced and decried the Shopian cover up and the institutional denial of justice to Shopian victims even after passing of one year.
AJKSF members on late Saturday evening staged peaceful demonstration and sit-in against the denial of justice to Shopian victims. They were demanding justice and punishment to the perpetrators of the gruesome incident in which a brilliant student Asiya and her sister in law Neelofar were allegedly raped and then killed by security forces in the night of May 29th and 30th in 2009.
Demonstrators had taken banners to lodge their protest and lighted candles to express their sympathies with the victims and to signify hope that those involved will be brought to book.
Meanwhile AJKSF has demanded that an independent probe be carried out by International People’s Tribunal on Human Rights and Justice as government has failed to act and win the trust of people and CBI has lost already beleaguered trust of people of Kashmir.
