India surpass Australia’s record of most number of ODIs played

Bulawayo : India played their 742nd One-day International (ODI) match during their seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka here Sunday. India surpassed Australia’s tally of 741 ODIs and now have the rare distinction of playing the most number of ODIs.

Angelo Matthews (75) has recorded a career-best innings – his fourth fifty.

Matthews has posted one fifty each against New Zealand, England, India and Zimbabwe.

Tillakaratne Dilshan’s eighth half-century against India is his 17th in ODIs.

India’s victory by seven wickets is their 65th in 122 matches against Sri Lanka: winning percentage – 58.55.

Ravindra Jadeja (2/49) has recorded his best bowling performance away from home.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have added 154 for the third wicket – India’s best in Zimbabwe.

Rohit became the second Indian player to make two centuries in Zimbabwe. Sachin Tendulkar was the first to achieve the distinction.

Rohit Sharma got the Man of the Match award for the first time in ODIs.

Rohit’s unbeaten 101 off 100 balls is his second hundred in successive innings. Against Zimbabwe, he had posted a career-best 114 on May 28, 2010.

Rohit became the first Indian to register two hundreds in successive innings in the same tournament in Zimbabwe.

Virat Kohli (82) has recorded his fourth fifty against Sri Lanka – his seventh in ODIs.

Ashok Dinda (2/44) has registered his best bowling performance. On his ODI debut against Zimbabwe on May 28, 2010, he could not claim a wicket.
