Beijing: Twenty-nine miners remained trapped in a coalmine in southwest China Monday, a day after work began to rescue them from a flooded pit, reports Xinhua.
The accident occurred at 11 a.m. Sunday when 35 miners were working underground in Sichuan province.
Rescuers are pumping water from the flooded pit and the water level has fallen 73 cm by 9.30 a.m., the emergency rescue headquarter said.
