Congress leaders said that they had received a report from the state unit on the controversial TV programme but no action was contemplated against the party MP for the present.

Sources said the chief minister met senior party leader A.K. Antony, who is also the chairman of the party’s disciplinary committee, and Home Minister P. Chidambaram. They said Rosiah also met Law Minister M. Veerapa Moily, who is incharge of the state.

Moily had Monday termed as a “very serious issue” the TV programme criticising party leaders.

The programme, telecast Friday and repeated Saturday, blamed Gandhi for the “sorry state of affairs in the Congress” and called Prime Minister Manmohan Singh a “rubber stamp”.

The channel has said the programme was not against top Congress leaders and Jaganmohan, the son of former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, does not interfere in the content matters of the TV channel.
