Babri Masjid verdict politically motivated: SDPI

By Pervez Bari, TwoCircles.net,

Bhopal: The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI) National president E. Abubacker has stated that the verdict on Babri Masjid issue, which has come out after 60 long years of legal proceedings, is deeply disappointing. The Court verdict is rather a political statement, than a decision in the dispute on the basis of documents and evidences that came before it.

Abubacker in a press release said that the verdict is against the spirit of law and is biased. This can be only considered as a continuation of the prejudice hitherto experienced in the Babri Masjid issue. Along with Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP), Congress also cannot be absolved of the responsibility in dragging the issue into this situation.

This judgment never justifies the forceful occupation of the Masjid, installation of idols there, illegal possession of the place by misuse of power and demolition of the structure. “We hope that, the UP Sunni Waqaf Board and All India Muslim Personal Law Board will take suitable decisions and approach the Supreme Court,” the release said. The SDPI president requested all to approach the issue by legal ways only. ([email protected])
