Bangalore: Former Karnataka chief minister and Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy Monday said his party will meet Governor H.R. Bhardwaj to seek the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s dismissal over the manner in which it won the trust vote in the assembly.
“We are demanding immediate dismissal of the government. The trust vote was not conducted properly. The speaker and chief minister ran away by announcing the voice vote,” Kumaraswamy told reporters.
The BJP government in Karnataka led by B.S. Yeddyurappa Monday proved its majority by winning the confidence motion through a voice vote, assembly Speaker K.G. Bopaiah declared amid chaos here.
Monday morning saw much drama as the speaker disqualified 16 rebel legislators, including 11 of the ruling BJP and five Independents, hours before the trust vote.
