Lucknow: About 400 hundred Muslim students and three minority schools were awarded by Human Welfare Foundation at a function here in Lucknow on 24th October. The meritorious students were given Rs 1000 each as cash prize, certificate and memento as an award.
The awards were given to 394 students who scored more than 60% marks in board examination. Prof. K. A. Siddique Hassan, General Secretary of Human Welfare Foundation said his organization began awarding meritorious Muslim students last year. “This is an initiative to uplift Muslim in the field of education. Through such award, meritorious students who appeared or are going to appear in upcoming board examination will be encouraged to do better in their career and in board examination,” he said.
Last year, Human Welfare Foundation organized awards for academic excellence and after the grand success in that function HWF decided to organize award for academic excellence in more states like Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and U.P. The awards for academic excellence in Assam was held on 10th Oct, and there will be two more programmes, one in Patna on 19th December and another in West Bengal on 29th November.
Three minority schools were also awarded as best schools of the state at the Lucknow function. The Faiz Aam Inter College, Faizabad, Jafar Memorial School and Iqra Public School, Phoolpur, Azamgarh got first, second and third best minority schools of U.P. award respectively.
The programme was chaired by the president of Nadwatul ulema, Maulana Rabe Husni Nadwi. He appreciated the work, efforts and such noble initiative of foundation and highlighted the importance of education to the students and their guardian who were made their valuable
participation on this grand occasion.
