Kerala: No need of NIA probe into attack on college lecturer

Thiruvananthapuram: On Monday, 6th September, the Kerala government told the High Court that the state police has been probing the attack by PFI activists on TJ Joseph, the lecturer of Newman college, in an effective manner with some breakthrough. So there was no need to assign this case to the National Investigative Agency (NIA).

The statement was part of a fresh counter-affidavit filed by the Deputy Secretary (Home)
in the court while it was hearing a petition seeking a probe into the incident by the NIA.

The Deputy Secretary (Home) also told the court that the probe on whether PFI,allegedly a radical organization, has any links with the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) or any other terrorist organization, is still on.
