PFI to hold national public health campaign

Bangalore: To create awareness among people about health care, Popular Front of India (PFI) is going to organize a nationwide health campaign from 21st November to 28th November 2010. The campaign will create public awareness about the importance of physical and health care and also people’s role in keeping the environment clean, pollution free and hygienic.

The campaign will be based on the slogan ‘Healthy People, Healthy Nation.’ During the campaign various programs will be held in all states where Popular Front has its units and cadres. It will include classes and demonstrations on environmental protection activities, disease prevention programs, yoga, physical exercises and right food habits. Sports and games events, mass cleaning of public places, and screening of documentary are also planned.

The campaign to be held with cooperation of local education and health department officers will further strengthen the government level public health efforts. There will also be a publicity campaign which will include public awareness booklets and posters in different languages like English, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Kannada, Tami, Malayalam Telugu and Manipuri.

It should be noted here that PFI holds such campaign every year throughout the country. Last year it was held in October 2009.
