Lucknow: The issue of postponing the long-awaited verdict of Allahabad High Court on the Ayodhya dispute beyond Sep 24, already rejected by the high court, will be raised in the Supreme Court, the petitioner said Monday.
Retired bureaucrat Ramesh Chandra Tripathi is all set to move the Supreme Court Tuesday against the high court’s Friday order, turning down his plea for deferring the final verdict in the Ayodhya dispute.
He wanted the verdict to be put off till the end of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi Oct 14. He also sought the utilization of the intervening period for exploring fresh possibilities for an out of court amicable settlement.
“I am going to file a petition before the Supreme Court tomorrow (Tuesday),” Tripathi told IANS here Monday evening.
“My appeal is ready and I have already signed all necessary documents,” he said.
“My counsel Prashant Chandra would make a mention before the Supreme Court Wednesday morning and I am quite hopeful that the highest court will not ignore the seriousness of the issues raised by me,” he said.
