Ex-principal of Azamgarh madrasa died at Muscat Airport

New Delhi: Mufti Mohd Shoaib Islahi Qasmi, former principal of Madrasatul Islah in Saraimir of Azamgarh, died this evening at Muscat Airport in Oman after fatal heart attack. He was 58 and is survived by wife, six sons and three daughters.

He had left for Bahrain today morning from Lucknow. At Muscat Airport he suffered fatal heart attack and collapsed.

Mufti Shoaib was Shaikhul Hadees at Madrasatul Islah. He was also head of Mohakm-e-Shariah run by Jamiat Ulema Hind in Saraimir. He was attached with several Madarsas in the district including Faizul Uloom.

Offering his deep condolences, Nazish Islahi, president, Old Boys Association of Madrastul Islah, said Muft Shoaib’s death is a personal loss for him. It is a big loss for Azamgarh Madrasa community, he added. He also informed that the body of Mufti Shoaib is being brought to Lucknow.
