Lucknow calm, under unprecedented security cover

By TCN Special Correspondent,

Lucknow: When entire India, and many parts of the world having Indians also, has set its eye on the Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, the city itself is presenting a curfew-like look today, couple of hours before the Special Bench of Allahabad High Court pronounces verdict on Babri Masjid title suit.

The city is calm, peace and almost indoor as unprecedented security has covered it. Just 10% of normal vehicular traffic is being seen. Most of the markets, prominently Ameenabad and Begum Hazrat Mahal, are almost closed. Even government offices have registered thin attendance.

As for the premises of the Lucknow court premises, it is appearing like no man’s zone as only lawyers and litigants whose cases are scheduled to be heard today are being allowed in. The Court Room No 21 where the special bench will deliver judgment in the 60-year-old title suit will see only concerned judges, lawyers and litigants and staffers.

For media district administration has made a special arrangement where around 500 pressmen will be accommodated. After the verdict, the parties and their lawyers will be brought to the place for media exposure.
