Toyota’s March sales up 41 percent

New Delhi : Japanese automobile major Toyota’s Indian subsidiary Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) Friday reported an increase of 41 percent in sales for March, at 9,726 units, as compared to the same period last year.

“We have sold 9,726 units last month, our highest ever sales,” said Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director of marketing.

According to the company, the increase in sales was attributed to the success of the company’s entry-level sedan Etios which sold 3,257 units in March. The car has an order booking of 29,796 units so far.

The company also said that it will be increasing prices of its key models like Innova, Corolla Altis and Fortuner by 1 to 1.5 percent from Friday.
