Rajya Sabha member Parimal Nathwani in a statement said the Supreme Court has stayed for two days the demolition drive going on at Islamnagar of Ranchi. The court has asked petitioner Mohammad Shakil to move the Jharkhand High Court.

“A high probe should be instituted in the police firing. There was conspiracy to target union Tourism Minister and Congress party’s Ranchi Lok Sabha member Subodh Kant Sahay. Sahay was detained when he joined the protesters Tuesday.

Ahmad visited the Islamanagar area and met family members of the youth. “We will request the governor to send a report to the central government about the demolition drive,” said Ahmad.
