“Hazare stood for the right issue (corruption). This is a very pertinent issue and I was in favour of this. This is the main problem that is troubling us right now and we have to tackle it head on,” Pilot told reporters here.

“This is the problem that is eating out our society and we all have to join our hands and fight together against it,” he said.

He added: “We all young people have to think in the right direction and come together to fight against it (corruption). We have to pull up corruption right out by its roots.”

Hazare had ended his fast Saturday after the government’s declaration that it would introduce in parliament a more stringent anti-graft law, which will be drafted by a 10-member committee that also includes civil society representatives.

About the success of the proposed bill, Pilot said: “There is no question mark over the success of the bill.”

Talking about the 2G spectrum allocation scam, he said: “All the investigating agencies are doing their work. As soon as the investigation is over, no matter how high ranking officials or politician the person is, anybody found to be culprit will be taken on charge and severe punishment will be given.”

Pilot had come to Chandigarh to inaugurate state-run BSNL’s new value added services in the Punjab circle.
