Rajasthan: CBI probe demanded into murder of police officer Phool Mohammad

Bhopal: Rajasthan’s more than 300 Muslim and social organizations staged a rally in Jaipur on Sunday demanding arrests of the accused who murdered police station in-charge Phool Mohammad and urged Rajasthan Home Minister to order CBI inquiry into the matter.

According to a Press release the rally starting from Muslim Musafir Khana wended its way through Sanganeer Gate, Ajmer gate, Ashok Marg and Statue Circle reached Udhyog Maidan where it culminated into a public meeting. In the rally Muslim youths were in large numbers who while repeatedly raising slogans against the Rajasthan Government’s carelessness demanded state Home Minister’s resignation.

In the public meeting held at Udhyog Maidan speakers while condemning the incident vehemently demanded the Rajasthan Government to pay a compensation of Rs. One crore to the family of slain Phool Mohammad. It was also demanded that action should be taken against officers who were present at the time of the ghastly incident.

Those who addressed the rally amongst others included Popular Front of India Rajasthan state unit vice president Mohammad Aslam Khan, Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), National secretary Hafiz Manzoor Ali Khan; Muslim Forum’s Moinuddin, Jamaat-e-Islami state president Engineer Mohammad Saleem; Prof. M. Hasan, Shaukat Qureshi and office-bearers of many other organizations.

In the rally Popular Front of India’s cadres from all over Rajasthan participated which included: Kota, Baraan, Jhalawad, Tonk, Seeker, Chittorgarh, Choru, Jhanjhunu, Nagor, Karoli, Dholpur and many villages and tehsil towns.
