Dubai : The participants at the second annual forum here for combating human trafficking have underscored the role of the media in fighting such crimes.
The meeting was organised by Dubai police. It recommended the launch of a hotline for reporting human trafficking crimes.
Participants also urged for training reporters who cover such crimes so that they are aware of the laws protecting the privacy and rights of the victims when they write about such crimes. They called for launching training courses for the media in cooperation with the government and NGOs.
The theme of the annual Forum for Combating Human Trafficking Crimes was media and human trafficking in Dubai.
