Ranchi : Police Monday arrested a Congress legislator in Hazaribagh district on charges of beating up a government official and sent him to 14 days’ judicial custody, police said.
Yogendra Sao of Barkagao constituency, who was arrested from Keredari, was presented before a Hazaribagh court which sent him to judicial custody.
Sao in January this year had allegedly assaulted a block development officer (BDO) of Barkagao in Hazaribagh district.
Despite an arrest warrant against him, Sao had attended the budget session of assembly.
