Two drug peddlers nabbed with Rs.1 crore-worth heroin

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) : Two drug peddlers, who operated in various states of the country, were arrested here Tuesday carrying heroin worth around Rs.1 crore, police said.

The two men, in their mid 30s, were nabbed from Panki town following a joint operation by the special operation group (SOG) and the district police.

According to police, preliminary investigations reveal the two used to supply illegal drugs in several states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and NCR region.

“The two are natives of Uttar Pradesh. They have been into supplying drugs for the last five years,” Police Inspector Sanjay Kumar told reporters in Kanpur, some 80 km from Lucknow.
