New Delhi : The government Wednesday said it will take measures to implement the recommendations of the Wage Boards for journalists and non-journalists as soon as it gets a direction from the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court on July 18 asked the central government not to go ahead with the implementation of the recommendations of Justice Majathia Wage Boards for the next two weeks.
“Government is not going back. We are not shirking our responsibility. We will take all measures to implement it (wage board award),” Labour and Employment Minister Mallikarjun Kharge told the Rajya Sabha.
Replying to queries from members, Kharge said the matter was pending before the apex court.
“The government is interested in implementing. As soon as we get directions, we will implement,” Kharge said.
