Islamabad : Last year’s air crash near Islamabad that left 152 people dead took place due to a communication gap between the cockpit and the control tower, a probe has revealed.
The investigation by the Civil Aviation Authority into Airblue Flight No.202 crash in Margalla Hills said that a communication gap between the cockpit, radar and control tower operators led to the accident, the daily Dawn reported Thursday.
The report has been submitted to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Sources said communication between the cockpit and control tower was missing at critical moments.
The media report said the pilot was warned as soon as he drifted from the marked flight path, but by the time he realised the danger, it was too late.
