In a latest move, SCBW has appointed Shia cleric and Imam-e-Juma Maulana Kalbe Jawwad as the administrator of Justice Karamat Hussain Waqf which owns the college and a market in prime Nishatganj locality. Surprisingly the present manager of the college Shoib Hussain claimed that the college and its properties are not waqf properties but controlled by a society.

Reacting after appointing Maulana Jawwad as new administrator, Chairman, Shia Central Board of Waqfs, Waseem Rizvi stated that appointment has been done as per the deed of Justice Karamat Hussain. “The waqf was registered with us and our share of seven percent of the earnings used to come from it but it has been stopped around 15 years ago. It was lying dead and we have taken the initiative to revive it,” he said. “I am not trying to clash with the college administration. My only intention is to save the waqf land and generate revenue from it for the development of the community,” he added. He claimed that Maulana Jawwad has accepted the appointment letter and will soon take over the waqf along with college and market.

On his part, Manager of the college, Shoib Hussain maintained that the college and its properties were never registered with waqf board. “The waqf board has lost its claims in a case and the Supreme Court has given its verdict in our favour. There is no such waqf property in our college. It is just another gimmick by the Shia Waqf board to create ripples,” he added.
