The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) has collaborated with corporate health provider Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) to help government and private hospitals improve the standards of quality such as hygiene, waste management, safe injection practices.

“Our objective is to develop a basic infection-control standard for all hospitals delivering healthcare in India. The collaboration will enable us to provide on and off site technical support to the hospitals for upgrading their infection control practices,” said Giridhar J. Gyani, chief executive officer, NABH.

The NABH and BD signed a Memorandum of Understanding to this effect.

“The MoU is for enhancing patient safety and healthcare worker safety in India,” said Manoj Gopalakrishna, managing director, BD-India.
