They asked the main opposition party to clarify its stand on the anti-corruption legislation.

Congress MPs, including Milind Deora, Sachin Pilot, Ashok Tanwar, Meenakshi Natrajan, Jitin Prasada, R.P.N. Singh, Sandeep Dikshit and Pradip Jain came near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi opposite parliament’s main entry gate to lodge their protest after the Lok Sabha was adjourned in the post-lunch session.

Some of them raised slogans saying they will not accept BJP’s “dictatorship”.

Natrajan said the BJP should make its stand clear on the Lokpal bill.

“They say one thing in the house, another at Ramlila Maidan. Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh) had offered a discussion on the Lokpal bill yesterday (Thursday) but they are not having this debate,” Natrajan told IANS.

Party MPs said the BJP had stated publicly that it broadly agreed with the Jan Lokpal bill but the party was not allowing discussion to take place.
