Jodhpur: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Tuesday interrogated a Congress legislator’s wife, Kamla Bishnoi, in the disappearance of nurse Bhanwari Devi who allegedly features on a CD with sacked state minister Mahipal Maderna in a compromising position, sources said.
Kamla, wife of Luni legislator Malkhan Singh, was quizzed at Jodhpur Circuit House for three hours. Malkhan’s brother Parasram Bishnoi has already been arrested by the agency.
It is believed that Bhanwari Devi was close to Malkhan Singh. Other family members of Malkhan Singh, including his sister Indra Bishnoi, have already been quizzed by the agency.
The CBI has also arrested Maderna. He was summoned for interrogation over his alleged role in Bhanwari Devi’s kidnapping Friday and was arrested after completion of questioning.
On Oct 16, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sacked Maderna from the cabinet over allegations that he had a role in her disappearance as she was blackmailing him on the basis of the CD.
