New Delhi : The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, Vinod Rai, has been elected chairman of the United Nations panel of external auditors.
Rai succeeds Norbert Hauser, vice-president of Germany’s Federal Court of Auditors, the CAG said in a statement here Thursday.
As head of the panel, Rai will be responsible for overseeing the external audit works and periodical reports on accounts and management of the UN and its specialised agencies.
Jagbans Singh, director general in the office of the CAG, has also been elected chairman of the Technical Group of the UN panel.
