Dubai : UAE Environment and Water Minister Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad has issued an ordinance making it mandatory for everyone to inform the authorities if an animal is suspected to have contracted any disease.
The ordinance Thursday also urged the authorities to report to the ministry as soon as they receive information about the outbreak of any disease so that necessary precautions can be taken to contain it.
If any epidemical disease is reported in any region, the minister will issue an order to this effect and the region will not be declared free from the disease until another ordinance is issued.
According to the decision no person is entitled to advertise the health status of animals in the media without obtaining the approval of the ministry.
