MPJ demands implementation of Minority welfare schemes

Nanded: Movement for Peace and Justice (MPJ) in its memorandum dated 18th December 2011, to the district Collector, Nanded; demanded effective Implementation of Minority welfare schemes. A copy of the memorandum was submitted to the honourable Prime Minister as well.

In Memo, the MPJ brought into notice the ill managed and poorly implemented Minority welfare schemes in Nanded district and made an earnest request to resolve these issues at the earliest by taking necessary actions.

MPJ demanded appropriate timely actions on:

1. The schemes covered under PM’s 15 Point Programme like SSA, IDCS, KGBV, NREGS,SGSY, SJSRY, SGRY, IAY, IHSDP, BSUP, JNNURM; the physical and financial targets are not achieved as suggested.

2. For economic empowerment of minorities, the Bank loans under Priority Sector Lending to the minorities are not publicized and hence only benefited up to 15% of the annual disbursements.

3. Maulana Azad Minorities Development Finance Corporation activities of disbursing the educational loans and loans to unemployed youths have suffered at its worst, in last two years.

4. Hundreds of deserving students from the minority communities are denied of Pre-Metric, Post-Metric and Merit-cum-Means scholarships due to their limited numbers.

5. Minority welfare schemes are being implemented in a very negligent manner by the concerned offices; hence it is strongly urged to conduct their monthly review, monitoring and evaluation by the District Collector’s office on a regular basis.

6. District level minority welfare committee is to be established immediately.

7. Proposed Urdu Ghar, Girls’ Hostel should be started at the earliest. This has been pending for last two years.

8. Include job oriented trainings for minorities under Skill Development Programme in Government ITI Nanded.

9. Conduct recruitment test for gram sevak, talathi, clerical grade and Police recruitment, in Urdu language thus providing equal opportunities to minorities in employment.

10. All the Urdu medium schools seeking government approval/permission should be given approvals as per the constitutional rights to minorities.
