ZFI to hold workshops on minority welfare schemes

New Delhi: Zakat Foundation of India will hold workshops in Minority Concentration Districts (MCDs) to create awareness among the community about minority welfare schemes of government. The participants will be trained to make best use of the Right to Information Act to monitor the proper and timely implementation of these schemes.

ZFI will organize the workshops from Jan-March 2011 in 12 Zonal Districts among 90 MCDs. The chief aim of the program is to bring economic empowerment of the deprived through timely information and its utilization.

During these workshops, ZFI shall impart among the participants, awareness about the welfare schemes run by Government for the uplift of minorities. Also, it shall train them about how to make best use of the Right to Information Act to monitor the proper and timely implementation of these schemes by deserving beneficiaries.

9. East Kameng – Arunachal Pradesh (2 March 2011)
10. Barpeta – Assam (4 March 2011)
11. Ukhrul – Manipur (6 March 2011)
12. Bhopal – Madhya Pradesh (10 March 2011)
